Fifteen years ago, the Broderick Christian Center’s homeless day shelter burned down in West Sacramento. Out of those ashes, something unexpected emerged: a groundswell of compassion that brought churches, businesses, and neighbors together to fill the sudden gap in care. That grassroots response became the early spark of what would eventually grow into the Mercy Coalition—and now, after years of evolution, into our new identity as Mosaic West Sac. What began as emergency support has matured into a broader, more intentional mission: building restorative community for those impacted by trauma, poverty, isolation, and systemic barriers.

As we step into this new chapter, we are honored to gather for the first-ever Mosaic City Banquet, an evening that reflects who we have become.

This dinner marks more than a shift from a morning event—it symbolizes the deepening of our vision and the expansion of our identity, as we hope to bring together even more of our community for a signature social fundraising event. Mosaic West Sac is the embodiment of a community where diverse, broken pieces come together to form something strong, beautiful, and whole. With the emergence of Mosaic Village and the continued growth of programs like Recovery Café, JAM Academy, and the Sutter Health Mosaic Center, we are building not only services, but a place of belonging—where every person’s story, struggle, and brilliance has a home.
